Historic Mansfield Walking Tours
It will serve as the gateway for you as you explore the rich history of one of Tarrant County's oldest towns.
The tours will take you past the homes of some of Mansfield's leading citizens--past the landmarks that made Mansfield what it is today.
A couple of them are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and many more appear to be eligible for State of Texas markers. You can learn about the Mansfield Male & Female Academy and the town's link to the railroad.
See an original bank safe from the late 1800s in one of the downtown businesses, and later admire the homestead of Ralph S. Man, one of the founders of the town.
All tours begin at the Mansfield Historical Museum and Heritage Center, 102 N. Main Street, and will bring you right back to where you began. You'll find a couple of nice restaurants and snack options on the tours. And, especially on the Central Business District Tour, you'll want to allow some extra time to stroll through the unique shops downtown.
Free parking is available at a public lot on E. Broad Street just past Main Street. Street parking is legal everyplace that is not marked "No Parking", so make yourself at home.
